Valencia Public Transport: EMT, Metro and SUMA Fares (2026)
Landing in Valencia? One SUMA card covers the metro, tram, EMT buses and Renfe Cercanías trains. EMT's own Bonobús works on EMT buses only. Decreto ley 6/2026 keeps the reduced SUMA and Metrovalencia fares to 31 December 2026. Children up to 14 ride those networks free on a personalised card.

Just landed and no transport card yet? A SUMA card runs on Metrovalencia, EMT, Renfe Cercanías and MetroBus. EMT also sells its own Bonobús, which works on EMT buses only.
Which card do you need in Valencia?

Follow the chart in order and stop at the first card that fits.
You buy SUMA titles at Metrovalencia ticket offices and vending machines, and at kiosks and tobacconists. A SUMA title allows a free transfer between different modes of transport, or between two different EMT lines.
Tip: count your transfers before you buy. Metro, tram and EMT in one go use a single SUMA 10 trip.
How much does the EMT bus cost?

A single EMT ticket costs €2.00, as of EMT’s price page archived in April 2026. You pay the driver in cash, or pay by credit card at the validator when you board. The EMTicket app sells the same ticket on your phone, with unlimited transfers for 1 hour after validation.
A Bonobús holds 10 trips, and each trip allows unlimited transfers between EMT buses for 1 hour. The reduced prices below are EMT’s own, funded by the Ajuntament and the Ministry of Transport, and run to 31 December 2026.
| Title | Full price | Reduced price |
|---|---|---|
| Bonobús, 10 trips | €8.50 | €5.10 |
| EMT Jove, monthly, under 30 | €25.00 | €12.50 |
A Bono Oro for a full year costs €20.00. The Bonobús card costs €2, and you buy or top it up at tobacconists, kiosks and EMT customer service offices.
MovimEMT is the pay-as-you-go option. Trips cost the Bonobús price until you spend €21 a month, then every trip is free. You use it with the EMTicket app QR code or a registered bank card.
Tip: if you ride every day, MovimEMT stops charging at €21 in a month.
How does Metrovalencia work, and what does a ticket cost?

A single metro ticket costs €1.50 to €4.80, plus a card, depending on the zones you cross. The metro uses three fare zones, A, B and B+. Find yours on Metrovalencia’s zone map.
| Zones | Single ticket (Metrovalencia list, October 2025) |
|---|---|
| Zone A or B | €1.50 |
| Zones A and B | €2.80 |
| Zone B+ | €3.50 |
| Zones A and B+ (airport) | €4.80 |
Single tickets need a card on top. An anonymous card costs €1.10 in cardboard or €2.20 in plastic. You buy single tickets only from station machines, and you can pay by card.
In December 2025 the Generalitat said regional public transport prices would stay the same in 2026, so the October 2025 list is the best guide.
Between metro and tram lines you have 90 minutes on a one-zone journey, or 150 minutes on the other zone combinations, counted from validation. Riding without a valid title costs €100 for a regularisation title, on top of the ticket. Children under 10 ride free with an adult holding a valid title, up to two children per title.
TuiN, the stored-value card
TuiN is a title for the whole Metrovalencia network, metro and tram. You validate on entry and exit, and on the tram only on entry. One card can pay for 1 to 60 people travelling together, and the minimum top-up is €5.
Under the temporary cuts a TuiN trip costs €0.80 in zone A or B, €1.60 in B+, €1.20 for AB and €2.00 for AB+. Register the card on the Metrovalencia website, then collect it at an Espai in Xàtiva, Colón, Benimaclet or Alacant.
What do SUMA 10, SUMA Mensual and the T passes cost?

A one-zone SUMA Mensual costs €21.00 and a one-zone SUMA 10 €5.40 until 31 December 2026. Those are the annex fares of Decreto ley 9/2025, which Decreto ley 6/2026 keeps from 1 July to 31 December 2026.
SUMA 10 holds 10 trips. With SUMA Mensual, trips are unlimited for 30 days. SUMA T passes give unlimited trips for 24, 48 or 72 hours.
| Monthly title | A, B+ or C | AB+ or BC+ | ABC+ |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUMA Mensual | €21.00 | €31.80 | €52.80 |
| SUMA Mensual Jove | €14.90 | €22.50 | €37.40 |
| SUMA 10 | A, B or C | AB or BC | ABC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Without the airport supplement | €5.40 | €7.50 | €12.60 |
| SUMA 10 | B+ | AB+ or BC+ | ABC+ |
|---|---|---|---|
| With the airport supplement | €7.50 | €12.60 | €17.40 |
Tip: check your zone before you load a title. The same SUMA 10 costs €5.40, €7.50 or €12.60 depending on the zones.
The airport stop is a supplement area (+). The supplement is charged on 10-trip titles, while monthly titles include the airport at no extra cost.
T passes and what the cuts leave out
Metrovalencia’s October 2025 list shows T1 at €4.50, T2 at €7.50 and T3 at €11.00 for zone AB. The same list shows T1+ at €9.00, T2+ at €14.00 and T3+ at €17.00 with the airport stop.
Tourist-oriented multi-trip titles are outside the temporary cut. The cuts do not apply on Renfe Cercanías València for zone combinations that include zone D.
Transfers and the end date
With SUMA 10 the free transfer must start within 90 minutes of the first validation on one zone. On two, three or four zones the limit is 110, 130 or 140 minutes. Transfers between metro and tram do not count.
A title bought at a reduced fare works until 31 January 2027. Between 1 January and 31 March 2027 you can exchange an unused one for the same title at the fare then in force, paying the difference.
How do you get from Valencia airport by metro?

Two metro lines connect the airport with the city: Line 5 (Aeropuerto / Marítim) and Line 3 (Aeropuerto / Rafelbunyol). Trains leave the airport every 15–20 minutes.
From the airport station you need a ticket covering the AB+ zone combination to reach any neighbourhood in Valencia. A single AB+ ticket costs €4.80, plus the card. A SUMA T1+ pass includes the airport stop and cost €9.00 on Metrovalencia’s October 2025 list.
Metro lines 3, 5 and 9 serve the historic centre through the Xàtiva and Colón stops.

Tip: a ticket for the city zones alone will not do. It must cover AB+.
How does Valenbisi bike sharing work?

Valenbisi sells annual and weekly subscriptions. Whichever you pick, the first 30 minutes of each trip are free. Extra minutes are billed at the current rate, and a trip cannot exceed 24 hours.
Valenbisi checks your bank card at sign-up with a €150 pre-authorisation. Under its rules, if a dock is full you have 15 minutes to reach the nearest station with free docks.
Which discounts need the padrón or a SIP card?

The free child and youth titles of Decreto ley 9/2025 apply to SUMA titles issued by ATMV and to Metrovalencia’s own titles. EMT’s own passes, below, follow EMT’s rules. They go to Spanish nationals and to foreigners with legal residence in Spain, on personalised cards. To get one you prove age with a valid DNI, NIE or passport and a recent front-facing photo.
If your child is under 14
Children travel free on SUMA and Metrovalencia up to and including 14, while EMT city buses run their own pass. The free title is loaded automatically when you request a Móbilis30 card on the ATMV website and prove the child’s age.
| Network | Age | Condition | Card |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUMA (ATMV titles) | Up to 14 | Free under Decreto ley 9/2025, extended by Decreto ley 6/2026 to 31 December 2026 | Personalised Móbilis30 card |
| Metrovalencia (own titles) | Up to 14 | Same temporary cut | Personalised card |
| Metrovalencia (metro and tram) | Under 10 | Free with an adult holding a valid title, up to two children per title | The adult’s title |
| EMT city buses | Under 14 | Child or one parent on the padrón in València for 6 months | EMT Infantil: pass free, card €5 |
A child under 14 without a DNI proves age with the family book (libro de familia) and also shows the SIP health card. No SIP card yet? See the SIP card guide.
For EMT city buses alone, EMT Infantil is a separate pass for children under 14. The child or one of the parents must be on the padrón in València for at least 6 months before applying. The pass is free, and the card costs €5. The padrón document comes from registering on the padrón.
You bring these to an EMT customer service office:
- the padrón document;
- the NIF, NIE or passport of the parent or guardian and of the child;
- the family book, or proof of guardianship.
The card is valid for two years, or until the child turns 14 if that comes first.
If you are 15 to 30
Young people aged 15 to 30 get 50% off existing youth titles on SUMA and Metrovalencia. SUMA Mensual Jove starts at €14.90.
The Móbilis30 youth card is requested online only, not in person. You upload photos of both sides of the DNI, your valid Carnet Jove and an ID-style photo. Cards are not sent outside Spain.
EMT Jove is EMT’s own monthly pass for under-30s: €25.00 a month, or €12.50 reduced, plus €3 for the card. The EMT page asks for a valid DNI; ask the office whether a NIE works.
If you are over 65 or a pensioner
Bono Oro is for people over 65, pensioners and people with disabilities. You must be on the padrón in València for at least 6 months before applying and live legally in Spain. It gives unlimited use of all EMT lines for the year. A full year costs €20.00.
The district office (Junta Municipal) handles the paperwork, with a cita previa.
On Metrovalencia, over-65s and pensioners get 50% off the single ticket. The one-zone single is the minimum cost. Bring a document proving your status, a photocopy of the DNI or an official document, and an ID photo. Under the temporary cuts, the Gent Major monthly pass costs €5.90 and the annual pass €52.40 for zone AB+.
If you have a large or single-parent family card
The family Bonobús is for members of a large (familia numerosa) or single-parent family registered on the padrón in València for at least 6 months. You bring a family card issued by the Generalitat Valenciana. You request it at an EMT customer service office.
The General category costs €4.10 and the Especial category €2.55 until 31 December 2026.
On Metrovalencia, a large-family card gives 20% off all titles in the General category and 50% in the Especial category.
If your income is low
EMT ambTU is an annual pass for people and their families (spouse and children under 16) with low incomes, registered on the padrón in València for at least 6 months. It costs €10. You request it at the district municipal office.

Common questions
Can I use one card on the metro and the bus?
Yes, with a SUMA card. It works on Metrovalencia, EMT, Renfe Cercanías and MetroBus. A SUMA title also allows a free transfer between different modes of transport, or between two different EMT lines. An EMT Bonobús works on EMT buses only.
How much is the metro from Valencia airport?
A single ticket between zone A and the B+ airport zone costs €4.80, plus a card. An anonymous card costs €1.10 in cardboard or €2.20 in plastic. A SUMA T+ pass includes the airport stop for 24, 48 or 72 hours.
Do children travel free in Valencia?
Yes, up to age 14, on a personalised SUMA card (Móbilis30) requested on the ATMV website. That free title runs to 31 December 2026. On Metrovalencia, children under 10 also travel free with an adult holding a valid title, up to two children per title. EMT Infantil needs 6 months on the padrón.
Do I need to be on the padrón for a transport discount?
